Job Description
• We are seeking a skilled Bench Jeweler to join our dynamic team.
• We provide high-quality jewelry repair services to clients and finish and fabrication for items in our showroom.
• Enjoy working with some of the most beautifully made jewelry in the area.
• Experience is preferred, but training opportunities are provided.
• Compensation: Entry level starts at $20 hourly.
Responsibilities:
• Sizing rings and bracelets
• Repairs and adjustments to chains
• Modifications and repairs to all types of gold and platinum jewelry
• Refinishing and rhodium-plating
• Repair via soldering and laser-welding
• Diamond and gemstone setting and tightening (prong, bezel, channel, bead, etc). Prong re-tipping
• Clean and inspect client jewelry, evaluate for needed repairs
• Assist the sales team in finding creative solutions to client needs
• Work must be consistent with our high standards of quality, service, and timeliness
• Maintain tools, shop, and personal work area to ensure they are clean and organized
• Work as part of a positive and cooperative team
Qualifications:
• A successful background in jewelry repair is preferred, but not required; we are able to provide comprehensive training to the right person
• Prior knowledge of jewelry, repair techniques, and experience using a laser welder are helpful
• Experience with gold, platinum, and gemstones is desired
• Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Experience working with small parts, often using magnifying glasses or a microscope
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to work with materials such as a torch and chemicals
• Work in a fast-paced environment to meet the demands associated with a busy retail store
• Workload and time commitment increase during certain times of the year, such as the holiday season
• Together with sales and office staff, participate as a member of a strong and positive team
• Ability to work as a team to accomplish goals
• Organized and systematic, with good attention to detail
• Motivated to continue learning and developing professionally
• Prior experience with fine jewelry is not required…be ready to learn!
• Ability to be a good decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills
