Summary Of Job Duties
This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the Campus (DES) District Energy System that serve’s the medical, educational, and research facilities on the UAMS Campus. These systems are vital to the safety, comfort, and general well-being of patients, students and employees. This position is also responsible for assisting with all problems and/or emergencies relating to facility issues on the UAMS Campus.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of relevant experience in HVAC Systems Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Maintenance, Power Plant Operation, Plumbing and Piping Systems, Stationary Engineer Role, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance, or boiler operation.

  • Boiler Operator Certification.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Intermediate computer program proficiency.

  • Knowledge of central plant systems.

  • Watchkeeping and rounding documentation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Have a boiler operator license with experience in steam and hot water boilers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HS/5 years of experience with a license.

  • Experience operating a District Energy Plant.

  • Operations of BMS controls experience.

  • Centrifugal Chiller experience.

  • Siemen's Desigo.

  • Knowledge of central plant operations.

  • Medium voltage electrical safety.
