Cake Decorator

Pay Range: $20–$23 per hour 

Schedule: Some weekends required

This role requires creativity, precision, and a strong foundation in professional cake decorating techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Decorate cakes with buttercream, fondant, and gumpaste according to design specifications.
• Execute smooth buttercream finishes, piping, and intricate decorative elements.
• Work with fondant and gumpaste to create clean, professional designs, including custom decorations.
• Mix and bake cakes from scratch, ensuring consistency in texture and flavor.
• Prepare buttercreams, mousses, pastry creams, and other fillings with attention to quality.
• Assist with general bakery production and ensure timely completion of cake orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of professional experience decorating buttercream cakes.
• At least 1 year of experience working with fondant and gumpaste.
• Proficiency in mixing and baking cakes from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of buttercreams, fillings (mousses, pastry creams, etc.), and overall bakery production.
• Ability to follow design specifications and execute custom orders with precision.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Fine motor skills for detailed decorating work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
