Job Title Cath Lab Charge Special Procedures Tech Duties Provides radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Operates CT and MRI scan units to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs venipuncture as required for exam. Measures and administers IV contrast and/or isotopes for procedure. Positions patient to obtain desired views and assists Radiologist with biopsy or drainage procedures. Performs series of exposures as appropriate. Prints and develops films and combines with patient chart for Radiologist. Prepares patient for exam by completing all questionnaires and other necessary documentation. Educates patient and/or family on procedure to be performed. Checks prep and maintains patient exam, history, file, requisition and billing sheets. Rotates call assignment as needed for 24-hour coverage; schedules patients in section and coordinates scheduling with other departments to ensure patient flow. Maintains and rotates supplies in assigned workstation and demonstrates cost efficient use of departmental resources. Adheres to dress code. Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees. Meets all departmental specific competencies. Adheres to medical center policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with the medical center code of conduct and applicable corporate policies and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Performs any other duties as assigned or requested. Skills The ideal candidate should possess knowledge in policies, procedures, and all equipment in Cardiac catheterization and Electrophysiology labs. Knowledge of keyboarding is required. Basic Computer skills include: Turn your personal computer on and off. Recognize the four major parts of the computer. Identify and explain the use of the four parts of the standard keyboard. Recognize the mouse and understand how to use it. Open and close a program using Windows. Recognize and understand the operator panel on a printer Load paper Education Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program required. Associates degree in Radiology Technology preferred. Radiologic Technology Certification and Kentucky State Certification required. Nuclear Medicine Certification preferred. ODC preferred.
