Controller 

Location: Duluth, GA 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our growing plumbing company. The Controller will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This individual will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth by providing financial insights and maintaining a robust financial structure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

​​​​ Financial Management:
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor and manage daily financial operations, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the budgeting process, working with departmental heads to create accurate forecasts.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.

Cost Management:

  • Track and analyze costs related to plumbing projects and operations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements.

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team to support strategic decisions.
  • Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, or expansions.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure financial alignment across departments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in construction, plumbing, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks Desktop).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
