Job Description

Professional Search Group is partnering with an innovative tech company in San Diego that is seeking a Controller to join their team. This role, reporting directly to a collaborative CFO, will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, leading a team of five. It's an exciting opportunity for someone who can drive process improvements and establish strong financial procedures to support the company’s growth and long-term success.

Controller Job Duties:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Accounting Management: Oversee the team providing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and reconciliations to drive month end close.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, and manage internal controls to mitigate risks.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate and lead external audits, ensuring compliance with all required financial documentation and standards.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA license preferred
  • Excellent ERP software user and administration skills (Netsuite preferred).
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Professionalism and ability to communicate well at any level
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines and job requirements

Salary: $165,000 - $185,000 base
