The Outreach Coordinator leads health promotion and outreach work in support of public health and community engagement best practices. This role includes extensive collaboration with local public health system partners and community members throughout Denton County.
Contacts and maintains working relationships with local health and human service agencies to provide information regarding Denton County Public Health programs, advance equitable health outcomes, and develop sustainable partnerships.
Engages with community members to promote health behaviors and achievement of the highest level of health, including educating on available public health programs and clinical services.
Attends community health events, distributes health education information, and assists in coordinating public health interventions in tandem with programs across Denton County Public Health.
Facilitates education for community members and partners in line with public health mission and programming.
Digitally designs and develops content that effectively promotes public health.
Coordinates the work of interns and/or volunteers to maximize program effectiveness.
Manages grant budget to ensure optimal use of allocated funding.
Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet, and/or file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary.
Prepares and maintains reports specific to outreach activities and key performance indicators.
Maintains various activity and outreach logs, submitting according to established procedures and grant requirements.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum two years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.
