Entry-Level Cost Accountant

Client is looking for an entry level cost accountant that has strong experience working with Sage 500 ERP 2023 Product update 2 Enterprise Edition .

The Sage experience is a must have. Industry knowledge a plus.

cost accountant (priority). Potential need to be on site close to 100% of the time in short term (1-2 months), then can move to remote.

Client would cover travel expenses, but prefers local.

Client is a manufacturer of automotive parts

Role Overview:
Supports financial operations by maintaining accurate cost accounting records, analyzing production costs, and assisting with month-end close activities within Sage 500.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update cost accounting records for raw materials, labor, and overhead within Sage 500 ERP .
• Assist in preparing cost analyses and variance reports for manufacturing operations.
• Support month-end close and inventory reconciliation activities.
• Collaborate with production and procurement teams to ensure accurate job costing and cost allocation.
• Monitor and validate standard costs, ensuring data integrity in Sage 500.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls within cost accounting workflows.
• Prepare ad hoc cost reports and analyses for management as needed.
