Dairy Farm Herdsman / Herd Manager position available on a 1,200 cow dairy farm, with over 500 in lactation, located in South East Tennessee. The ideal candidate will possess a college degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience. The candidate MUST have experience with heat detection, prostaglandin, GNrH shots, Ovsynch protocols and all other aspects of AI breeding. Also MUST have experience with dairy nutrition, herd health, treating cattle and vaccination protocols. Treatments and vaccinations include, fresh/dry/milking, ketosis, mastitis, milk fever and down cows. Will be responsible for overseeing parlor, but will not be responsible for milking unless in an emergency. The candidate must have a valid driver's license and excellent communication skills. Dairy Spanish is helpful.
