As a Dental Assistant Instructor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students in their journey toward becoming skilled and confident dental professionals. Through engaging classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, and clinical supervision, you will help students build the knowledge and experience necessary for success in the dental industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations, and presentations on essential dental assistant topics such as dental anatomy, radiology, infection control, chairside assisting, dental materials, and more.
Lead hands-on laboratory sessions to help students develop practical skills and gain confidence in performing dental procedures.
Supervise students during clinical rotations, ensuring they follow safety protocols and adhere to professional standards.
Evaluate student progress through exams, assignments, and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the dental field and incorporate relevant developments into the curriculum.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Mentor students by offering career advice, study tips, and encouragement throughout their educational journey.
Work closely with fellow faculty members and administration to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a dental assistant in a clinical setting.
In-depth knowledge of dental assisting techniques, procedures, and industry standards.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to students with diverse learning styles.
A genuine passion for teaching and a desire to help students succeed in their careers.
Strong mentorship abilities to offer constructive feedback and guidance to students.
Adaptability in teaching methods to accommodate various learning preferences and environments.
Current certification or licensure as a dental assistant is preferred but not required.
Previous teaching experience is a plus.
Proficiency in basic computer skills.
