Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist for a local health department project. This project is expected to run for approximately 6 months.

Qualifications:

• Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license
• Must have a current/active CPR certificate
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of dental terminology
• Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
• Skills in using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning
• Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques,
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to manage time so can adequately treat patients but still treat the number of patients needed and in a timely manner
• Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Serve as a dental hygienist in the School Based Sealant program.
• Provide dental assessments, take pictures of inside of students mouth for teledentistry, educate students on oral hygiene provide fluoride varnish treatments and dental sealants.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: From $35.91 per hour
