Cubic is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, who is committed to their work, and capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment to join the DevOps team within the DevOps and Quality Assurance group.  

This team supports the Cubic engineering teams by providing DevOps services and governance, and building and maintaining DevOps pipelines and tooling. The successful candidate is expected to bring an open, collaborative and innovative approach to their work. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Pro-actively work with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers and Test Automation Engineers to improve the process of building and deploying cloud solutions across all test and production environments, with a focus on applications and infrastructure hosted in Azure. 

  • Implementing best-in-class DevOps principles and governance within the technology group working closely with the cross-functional engineering teams. 

  • Develop and maintain reusable automation scripts and components with variety of build and deployment automation tools implementations, deployment automation  and IaC scripts. 

  • Monitor and Optimise system performance, ensuring high availability. 

  • Implement security best practices, across infrastructure and applications 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure related issues. 

Requirements

Essential Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, computer/electronic  
    engineering, or related discipline. 

  • 2+ years’ experience in a DevOps, Build or Release engineering role. 

  • A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently, managing their own time and workload effectively. 

  • Is able to effectively communicate with leads and members of cross functional teams. 

  • Experience as a Build/Release Engineer in an Agile development environment. 

  • Experience of deploying applications and databases in Azure, including container and .NET Core deployments. 

  • Strong experience of leveraging Azure services and automation. 

  • Strong scripting and automation skills e.g (PowerShell, Bash). 

  • Experience on CI/CD and Blue/Green deployments. 

  • Experience with any of the following build and deployment automation platforms (or similar tooling: Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bamboo, TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab) 

  • Experience using Git, Gitflow (branching model). 

  • Experience of deploying .NET Framework applications and components 

  • Strong communications and problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong attention to detail 

Desirable Skills 

  • Experience using Atlassian tools, e.g., Confluence, Jira 

  • Experience working with Cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS etc). 

  • Experience working in a lean engineering model, using Kanban. 

  • Working in an Agile development environment. 

  • Cloud-based certifications will be of benefit 

  • DevSecOps Experience
