Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic entry-level instructional task lead to support the creation, conversion, and delivery of a micro-credential program in extractive engineering disciplines, including environmental, metallurgical, mining, and geological engineering. This position is a three-year, grant-funded role supporting a new micro-credential certificate program in partnership with a DPA cooperative agreement.

Position Duration: 3-year grant-funded contract

Key Responsibilities:

Course Delivery: Facilitate online coursework at the advanced undergraduate or graduate level for a grant-funded certificate program in the extractive engineering disciplines, including environmental, metallurgical, mining, and geological engineering.

Collaborative Content Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other team members to create and convert technical content for the certificate program. This includes working in a multidisciplinary environment to ensure high-quality learning materials.

Online Delivery Best Practices: Work closely with instructional designers to integrate national best practices for online, asynchronous course delivery, ensuring regular, substantive interactions to enhance learning experiences.

Quality Review: Conduct initial quality reviews of curriculum to ensure it aligns with university standards and federal requirements for online, asynchronous delivery.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a STEM discipline relevant to the subject matter (e.g., mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental, or a related field).

Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in technical fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in a STEM discipline.

Prior experience as a lecturer, instructor, or graduate teaching assistant in higher education or as a presenter in professional development workshops or programs.

Experience teaching STEM courses in a university setting or providing training in an industrial environment.

Experience delivering online STEM courses and understanding of best practices for online, asynchronous educational delivery.

Experience in teaching adult, professional, or non-traditional learners.
