Located in Roseville, MN and is full- time, rotating shift position with some weekend and holiday shifts. Days of work and hours vary depending on the site's need.
The Employment Counselor refers individuals to support services, providing career and related counseling services to individuals who are referred to the program. In this role you will be responsible for building relationships with external partners such as Vocational Rehabilitation Services, School Districts, and referrals through CBS/MSOCS Vocational Services through waiver funding. As the Employment Counselor you will also be providing supports to individuals attending CBS/MSOCS vocational programs who are challenged by cognitive, emotional, and physical barriers.
Additional duties in this role would include the help of assessing career goals, skills, natural abilities, developing individual support plans, self-assessments, as well as potential employment and community engagement opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years' experience in providing career guidance, vocational counseling, job placement or similar functions in Social Work or Human Services setting.Knowledge of client assessment, case management and placement techniques
Computer and math skills
Effective Human Relation skills
Excellent communication skills
Currently Certified in Customized Employment
*Associate's Degree or higher in Social Service, Social Work, Human Services or a related field will substitute for 1 year of required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
