Job Description

AECOM is seeking a GIS Summer Intern to be based in Houston Texas.

This position is expected to begin in March 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. 
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad wellrounded learning experience within their field of study.
  
   

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Geography Environmental Science Computer Science or other related fields with a strong emphasis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and must have completed at least 2 of years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelors degree and plan to continue with the Masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
• Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Surface waterrelated experience or interest including coastal engineering flood modeling and flood resilience planning.
• Experience with programming or automation including Python.
• Mobile or webbased GIS development or customization.
• Handson experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro Esri Experience Builder and Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Knowledge of GIS practices processes and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
• Strong desire to work in a fastpaced team environment across different engineering disciplines.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
