We are looking for apprentice and journeymen HVAC installers who are hungry to learn and solve the industry's most complex problems with excellence. An ideally hungry installer wants to grow themselves and their career in the mechanical trades. However, the hunger for learning and the courage to face a challenge are not enough to mesh with our team.

The appropriate candidate for ThermalTran is also humble. Even the most remarkable master technician must check his ego to remain teachable. No one has learned everything, and we are not the right company for you if you already know it all. Team members at ThermalTran share credit, emphasize team over self and define success collectively rather than individually. Humble installers can admit when they are wrong and seek first to understand, then to be understood.

Salary:

• Entry level $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
• Experienced $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
• Leads $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Entry level

• Essential understanding of mechanical principles

• The position requires the capacity and eagerness to travel. Periodically, we travel to various states for week-long visits.
• Clear and respectful communication skills
• Ability to imbue trust in relationships with our clients and team members through regular communication
• Teachability: a passion for learning more about the trade
• Must pass a mechanical aptitude test

Minimum Requirements: Experienced

• Two years of HVAC or Refrigeration Experience
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and energy codes
• Clear and respectful communication skills
• Ability to imbue trust in relationships with our clients and team members through regular communication
• Teachability: a passion for learning more about the trade
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work in tight spaces
• Must pass a mechanical aptitude test

Minimum Requirement: Lead

• Four years of HVAC or Refrigeration Experience
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and energy codes
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must be able to complete a start up procedure
• Clear and respectful communication skills
• Ability to imbue trust in relationships with our clients and team members through regular communication
• Teachability: a passion for learning more about the trade
• Must be willing to teach or train
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work in tight spaces
• Must pass a mechanical aptitude test

Desired traits (These traits can be learned at ThermalTran if they are presently beyond your current skillset) :

• Understanding of electrical circuits and controls
• Heightened organizational skills in managing job sites
• Competency with Service Titan or other field service software
• Other trade experiences are a plus
• Experience assembling walk-in coolers and freezers
• Ability to read blueprints (for entry and experienced level; required for lead)
• Experience in both HVAC and Refrigeration are a plus
• Computer skills

License/Certification:

• Valid Driver's License (Required)
• EPA License is a plus
• Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus
• Forklift/Telehandler Certifications are a plus
• Scissor lift or other aerial work platform certifications are a plus
• Passport is a plus (for work done on the US Ports)
