Job Description

Summary/Objective:
Park West Health Systems, a network of Federally Qualified Community Health Centers in northwest Baltimore City, seeks a Physician for Internal Medicine. Park West has deep roots in the community it serves and is a robust multi-disciplinary health system that provides OB/GYN, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Dental, and HIV/Ryan White services.

• Under general supervision, and in collaboration with physician & Nurse Practitioner colleagues, responsible for diagnosing and treating patients. Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient, and patient’s family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, effective care, and patient safety. Provides up-to-date and best practice medical care with other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates ability to promote professionalism through involvement in interdisciplinary care and/or certification in the area of specialty.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age-specific needs.
• Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication skills, which are required to interact with patient families and various internal/external departments.
• Maintains updated mandatory training.
• Updates immunizations as recommended per practice area.

Qualifications:

Education: Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency; Board-certified or Board-eligible in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM); Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Physicians in the State of Maryland.

 
Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of one year of experience as an MD/DO.
• DEA and CDS.
• CPR required.
• Experience providing culturally competent medical care.
• Success in working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues.
• Enjoys interprofessional collaboration and providing patient-centered, team-based care.
