The Role: IP Prosecution and Trademark Associate | New York, NY

We are seeking a talented IP Prosecution and Trademark Associate to join the firm's intellectual property team in New York. This role offers the opportunity to manage a busy prosecution and enforcement practice while providing strategic counsel on trademark and copyright matters across domestic and international markets.

In This Position, You Will:

  • Conduct and evaluate U.S. and global trademark clearance searches and assessments.
  • Draft goods/services identifications, review specimens, and prepare USPTO filings, including substantive office action responses.
  • Advise clients on Madrid Protocol filings and related international trademark matters.
  • Manage enforcement actions, including drafting cease-and-desist letters, takedown notices, and trademark settlement agreements.
  • Draft and review trademark, copyright, and NIL (name, image, likeness) licenses and assignments.
  • Provide copyright counseling, filing, and domain name enforcement, including drafting UDRP complaints.
  • Clear digital and social media content for trademark and copyright compliance.
  • Support due diligence for corporate transactions involving IP assets.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience and Expertise

  • 2+ years of direct trademark prosecution and enforcement experience.
  • Law firm experience handling trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement.
  • Strong background in domestic and international IP matters, including licensing and copyright.

Educational Credentials

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission or eligibility for admission to the New York Bar.
