Job Description

Anarust Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Coder to join our growing team. The Remote Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately assigning and sequencing diagnostic and procedural codes (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) to patient medical records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

Review and accurately code medical records, including physician notes, operative reports, and other relevant documentation.

Ensure accurate and timely submission of coded data to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Research and interpret complex medical information and apply appropriate coding guidelines.

Stay current with all coding guidelines, including ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and payer-specific rules.

Identify and resolve coding discrepancies and inconsistencies.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date coding documentation.

Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate effectively with other team members, including physicians, nurses, and billing staff.

Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Coder in a physician's office, hospital, or other healthcare setting.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

In-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.

Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems and coding software.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with remote work preferred.
