Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ Months

Role Summary :

Overview:
A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a PeopleSoft HCM Business Analyst for a 6-month remote contract opportunity that is expected to extend. Due to the nature of the role, they are only considering remote candidates who are currently residing in Texas.

The PeopleSoft HCM Business Analyst will be a key member of the CAPPS HCM upgrade project team, working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze business objectives and identify solutions to improve or automate existing systems. The role requires the analyst to conduct in-depth studies, perform cost/benefit analysis, and document requirements and solutions for PeopleSoft Payroll and Time & Labor systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in PeopleSoft HCM, specifically within a Texas state agency or CAPPS system.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Analysis and Documentation:

  • Understand business objectives and problems, and identify alternative solutions.
  • Conduct studies and cost/benefit analysis of system alternatives.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve or automate processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze current operational procedures and identify specific input/output requirements.
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.

System Review and Feasibility Analysis:

  • Review computer system capabilities, specifications, and limitations to determine if requested program changes are feasible within existing systems.
  • Provide detailed functional documentation for key business stakeholders and SMEs.

Conducting Work Sessions and Presentations:

  • Facilitate formal work sessions and functional analysis presentations to gather and refine system requirements.

Testing and Validation:

  • Perform hands-on testing across multiple test cycles.
  • Conduct system integration testing and testing of external interfaces to ensure seamless system functionality.

Training and Support:

  • Develop and document training materials for end-users.
  • Provide ongoing support during implementation and post-launch phases.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work effectively with a diverse team, utilizing collaboration tools in a remote work environment.
  • Estimate work, set deadlines, and communicate project progress effectively to all team members and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PeopleSoft HCM Implementation/Upgrade (8+ years): Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst working on PeopleSoft HCM implementation or upgrade projects.
  • PeopleSoft HCM Payroll or Time & Labor (8+ years): In-depth experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Payroll or Time & Labor modules.
  • Requirements Gathering and Documentation (8+ years): Strong experience in identifying business requirements and creating formal functional documents for business stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Facilitation and Functional Analysis (8+ years): Extensive experience in conducting formal work sessions and presenting functional analysis to business and technical teams.
  • System Integration and Testing (8+ years): Hands-on experience with end-to-end system integration testing and external interface testing.
  • Microsoft O365 Applications (4+ years): Experience with Microsoft O365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Public Sector Experience (4+ years): Experience working with public sector organizations (Federal, State, or Local Government).
  • CAPPS Financials (2+ years): Experience working with the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) CAPPS Financials system.
  • PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 (2+ years): Experience specifically with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Payroll or Time & Labor modules.
  • PeopleSoft AWE (2+ years): Experience with PeopleSoft Approval Workflow Engine (AWE).
  • SharePoint (2+ years): Experience with SharePoint for document management and collaboration.
  • Jira (1+ year): Experience using Jira for issue tracking and project management.
  • Scrum Framework (1+ year): Experience working within the Scrum framework for agile project management.
