Job Title: Remote Certifying Scientist – Chemistry

About the Role
We are seeking a licensed Certifying Scientist to join our team on a remote, contract basis . This role is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and certifying analytical results in compliance with all applicable CLIA, CAP, and state regulations.
The ideal candidate will be licensed in Chemistry by the Louisiana State Board of Clinical Laboratory Science and experienced in reviewing toxicology or clinical chemistry data from LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, or immunoassay platforms.
Responsibilities
Review and certify analytical data for accuracy, precision, and compliance with established quality standards.
Interpret test results in accordance with laboratory protocols and applicable regulations.
Identify and troubleshoot potential issues or inconsistencies in data.
Document all reviews, comments, and approvals in the laboratory information system (LIS).
Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state-specific requirements.
Communicate effectively with laboratory staff to resolve data discrepancies as needed.
Qualifications
Louisiana State License in Chemistry (required) – active and in good standing.
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or related field.
Previous experience as a Certifying Scientist in a clinical or toxicology reference laboratory strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, or immunoassay data interpretation.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to data integrity.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
Compensation
Per-sample pay structure (rate based on sample volume and turnaround time).
Flexible, remote work schedule.
