Overview

A Research Specialist position is available in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. The Falkner Lab - focuses on neural circuit dynamics in subcortical circuits during social behavior. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including routine animal care (e.g. assist lab members with mouse breeding) and work with the researchers to design and perform experiments. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual.

This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding availability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general lab maintenance duties
• Manage mouse colony
• Assist researchers with experiments and data analysis
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) in Neuroscience or related field.
• 1 year minimum laboratory experience pre- or post-baccalaureate
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding references.
• Experience with mice and running rodent behavior.
• Proficient with programming in Python and/or Matlab.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with methods in computational neuroscience.
• Experience with animal husbandry (rodents).
