Job Summary: The Road Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the County transportation system including some state highways and city streets under contract with Lane County. Although the majority of equipment and employees in Road Maintenance are based at the Delta Complex, satellite shops are located near Cottage Grove, Dexter, Veneta, and Florence. A crew and equipment are assigned to each Road Maintenance Zone. The Bridge Projects Crew, Sign Shop, and Vegetation Crew are headquartered at Delta and work throughout the County.
Schedule: These positions work Monday - Thursday, from 6:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Overtime required per operational needs.
*This is a non-represented position* * Extra Help employees may work up to a maximum of 520 hours per fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year.
Job Responsibilities: Lane County Public Works seeks extra help employees for its Road Maintenance Division. Successful candidates perform general manual labor and flagging work on Public Works road crews.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment. Note: The selected candidate(s) for this classification are required to pass a criminal background check before entering County employment.
Compensation: $18.04 Hourly - 40 hours a week
