SAP HANA ABAP Technical Consultant (Code Optimization)

Location Remote position

Contract-6 Months+

Job Summary:

• We are looking for an experienced SAP HANA ABAP Technical Consultant with strong expertise in code optimization for an existing platform. The ideal candidate must have deep technical knowledge of modern SAP HANA ABAP development, including performance tuning, CDS views, table functions, and complex SQL queries, Integration optimization, along with a solid functional understanding

Key Responsibilities:

• Code Optimization & Performance Tuning:
• Analyze and optimize existing ABAP code for SAP HANA compatibility and
• performance improvements.
• Utilize performance traces, SQL trace (ST05), ABAP trace (SAT), and runtime analysisntools to identify bottlenecks.
• Optimize complex SQL queries, database access, and table joins for HANA execution.
• SAP HANA Development & New Technologies:
• Develop and enhance Core Data Services (CDS) views, table functions, and AMDP
• (ABAP Managed Database Procedures).
• Leverage code-to-data paradigm for improved performance on SAP HANA.
• Implement best practices for HANA-specific ABAP programming.
• Functional Expertise & System Enhancements:
• Work closely with functional teams to optimize SAP FI (new finance tables) and CS(sales document flow, ATP checks, and enhancements).
• Provide technical solutions and enhancements based on business needs.
• Ensure best practices in custom development, BAdIs, enhancements, and user exits.

Required Skills

• Strong ABAP development experience, with expertise in HANA-optimized ABAPprogramming.
• Proficiency in performance optimization techniques: SQL tuning, performance traces, buffering, and parallel processing.
• Hands-on experience with CDS views, table functions, AMDP, and advanced SQL scripting.
• Strong understanding of new SAP FI tables and data structures in S/4HANA.
• Good knowledge of Customer Service (CS) module, including sales document flow,n ATP checks, and relevant enhancements.
• Experience in debugging and analyzing complex issues in SAP systems.
• Ability to work with functional teams to understand business processes andnoptimize related code.
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools like SQL Monitor (SQLM), Runtime Analysis (SAT), and SQL Trace (ST05).
• Knowledge of OData, Fiori, and RAP (Restful ABAP Programming) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP HANA certification in ABAP development.
• Experience in S/4HANA migration projects.
• Knowledge of modern development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps in SAP).

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with functional teams.
• Attention to detail and focus on delivering high-performance code.
