Are you an early-career accounting professional who enjoys working with data, deadlines, and multi-state complexity? Join Southern States Cooperative and play a key role in supporting tax compliance across a large, multi-entity organization.
Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings for multiple locations across various states
Complete property tax returns using fixed asset software
Process tax payments and assist with journal entries and account reconciliations
Support year-end patronage refunds and income tax provision calculations
Respond to operational requests, including sales tax exemption certificates
Assist with audits, technical research, and ad hoc tax projects
Use and support data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Power BI
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1–2 years of tax or accounting experience (preferred)
CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
Ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
Experience with Power BI is a plus
Hybrid work environment
Exposure to multi-state tax compliance and cooperative structures

Collaborative team supporting over 100 cooperative locations
Hybrid office setting
Occasional, limited travel to Southern States or Member Cooperative locations
