Description: Position Description:
This UAW-represented Skilled Trades position includes planning jobs, laying out work (except major construction and rearrangement program) and carrying through to completion the fabrication and erection of complicated sheet metal parts and equipment including but not limited to ventilators systems, exhaust hoods, cyclones, tanks, containers, bins, screens and partitions, machine guards, cornices, etc.
Position Requirements:
Must be U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to successfully complete the pre-employment process including drug screen and background check.
Must obtain Department of Army Police unescorted access.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Must satisfy skills test- including vision, audio, respirator clearance, physical.
Journeyman and/or eight years' experience.
Working Conditions & Environment
Ability to work in production environment, including:
Lifting and handling (pushing, pulling) various parts - must be able to lift greater than 40 #.
Must be able, willing and capable of working aloft. Cannot be afraid of heights.
Wearing personal protective equipment/clothing, including a respirator.
Climbing ladders and stairs.
Climbing onto equipment.
Potential for walking and standing on uneven surfaces.
Potential for working in both overhead and laying prone positions.
Bending, kneeling, standing, stooping, twisting.
Working in inclement weather including heat and cold.
Working in areas with a high noise volume.
Working in areas with dust and fumes.
Potential for working in confined spaces.
Overtime and off-shift work may be required.
