The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire a Site Technician II at Horseshoe Lake State Park. This position will: operate trucks, tractors, backhoes, tree spades, stump cutters for road repairs: participate in site renovation/construction projects; perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs; participate in the camping and hunter program collecting fees and selling camping permits; make trail repairs, mow grass, and clean and disinfect restrooms. Horseshoe Lake State Park is situated in a low flood plain that follows the Mississippi River to the Kentucky border. Horseshoe Lake State Park accommodates 26 tent or trailer campsites. Patrons can picnic, fish, boat, camp, hunt and hike. We welcome interested applicants who would like to be part of this team to apply today.

Charged with preserving, protecting and promoting Illinois’ natural and cultural resources, Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) employees oversee water, wildlife, wetlands and oil wells, parks, historic sites – and everything in between. Office of Land Management
The Office of Land Management (OLM) oversees nearly 400 individual parcels of land and institutes a wide variety of programs and activities advocating outdoor recreation through sustainable use, conservation, and preservation. The Historic Sites Division of the Office of Land Management oversees 57 Historic Sites, Monuments, and Memorials. OLM facilitates activities from small group interpretive programming at Historical Sites, to hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping.
Work Hours: Sun. - Thurs. 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM w/ 1/2 hr lunch, off Friday and Saturday. Late October to late December would be the same days off, but 4:00 AM - noon shift to cover duck season.
