Sr Accountant Location Frisco, TX : Job Overview:

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant professional to join the Fixed Asset team. The primary objectives of this role will be assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings, reconciliations, analysis of accounting transactions, financial and tax reporting, as it relates to global fixed assets. This individual will be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.

This role will report to the Fixed Asset Accounting Manager and will work closely with members of KDP's accounting, finance and other operational business partners on various accounting matters to ensure transactions are appropriately recorded within KDP's general ledger and financial statements.

The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and capable of working independently in a project-driven environment while managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills, a keen sense of urgency, and attention to detail are essential to meet deadlines and adhere to contractual timelines. A process-oriented mindset and a commitment to identifying and implementing process improvements are also important. Professionalism in interactions with both internal and external customers is crucial. This role requires effective collaboration with Outsourced Accounting Team, Finance, Project Managers, Capital Management Department, Regional Business Units, Information Technology, and Compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the fixed asset lifecycle; manage the acquisition, classification, depreciation, and retirement of fixed assets in accordance GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
  • Handle day-to-day asset accounting activities, ensuring processes internal controls are followed.
  • Work closely with internal business partners on Construction in Process (CIP) management, ensuring timely and accurate capitalization of assets. Lead monthly status meetings and conduct detailed research on project expenditures.
  • Complete month-end closing procedures, including managing SAP system close processes. Ensure all deadlines are met with high accuracy for monthly close, reporting, and audit requests.
  • Prepare and/or review schedules and disclosures for external reporting team, tax department, auditors. Respond to ad hoc reports requests as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to our outsourced accounting team members, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for asset acquisitions, retirements, and transfers.
  • Assist Project Managers and Finance in accurately accounting and forecasting for asset transactions.
  • Review, monitor, and process fixed assets requests promptly, including capitalizations, retirements, and transfers.
  • Maintain or create process documentation to ensure clarity and consistency in asset accounting procedures, where necessary.
  • Analyze and report on fixed asset performance, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Support the implementation of solutions and tools designed to enhance productivity across the function, such as SAP, Planview, Cadency, and other IT tools.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on the utilization of the SAP fixed asset project systems.
  • Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance, and development, when needed.
  • Participate in other miscellaneous projects and tasks, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
  • Strong organization and communication skills required to prioritize and efficiently execute tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to details and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for meeting deadlines and willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in leading projects or initiatives related to fixed assets is a plus.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, knowledge of SAP or another large ERP systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of EAM and Project Systems is desired.
