JOB OVERVIEW:

Nelson Schmidt is seeking a senior content writer with 5-8 years of experience to join our team. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must possess excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. The ability to research topics, organize information and clearly express ideas through written content and compelling stories is vital. Balancing and prioritizing multiple projects among various clients and industries is imperative. Knowledge of digital channels including social media platforms is required. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Key Responsibilities Include

  • Outstanding writing skills to develop articles, press materials, case studies, white papers, blog posts, social media, website and other compelling content.
  • Intimate with the AP Stylebook and disciplined in AP writing style.
  • Edit and proofread agency and client materials.
  • Research topics and subjects to develop stories written in different brand voices.
  • Work as part of an integrated public relations, creative and production team.
  • Manage project timelines across multiple client accounts and prepare regular status updates/reports for client meetings and calls.
  • Present in client meetings as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  Key Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, communications, English or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a working journalist or content writer.
  • B2B experience a strong plus.
  • Superb storyteller.
  • Ability to grasp complex issues across multiple industries within tight deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with clients and team members.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Detail oriented and familiar with AP style.
  • Team player with “can do” attitude.
  • Proven understanding and effective use of social media platforms.
