Our tasting room is in downtown Healdsburg, just a short walk from the beloved plaza. Our experience is relaxed and celebratory as we entertain guests with our garden patio, music stage, robotic production facility, and a unique opportunity of sabering bottles of our sparkling wines with one of our authentic sabers.

We are seeking a full time Tasting Room Manager to round out our team.

MAIN JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

•  Maintain clear and open communication with Founders
•  Respond to all emails and voicemails in a timely manner
•  Welcome and engage all guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner
•  Provide all guests with a fun and memorable experience
•  Sell wine, food, and merchandise in a professional manner
•  Offer and encourage wine club sign-ups to increase sales and build customer loyalty
•  Pour wine, talk with guests, answer questions about wines, be able to give recommendations, work with registers, stock wine supplies, maintain restrooms, clean tables and general house-keeping duties as needed, empty garbage, wash glasses, and sweep floors
•  Describe wines and winery history, answer visitors’ questions about the brand and wine
•  Coordinate and help plan events
•  Recommend other local wineries, hotels, and restaurants so you’re an excellent concierge for your guests
•  Ensure the tasting room, patio, and bathrooms are always in a clean and presentable manner
•  Represent Breathless at offsite functions as needed
•  Create new experiences, food pairings, and events to elevate the guest experience
•  Oversee the tasting room’s retail shop and merchandise
•  Responsible for working with Ownership to implement sales goals and ensuring the goals are met
•  Responsible for all Tasting Room Ambassadors, including but not limited to scheduling, compliance, payroll, evaluations, hiring recommendations, terminations, disciplinary actions
•  Maintain club (picked up and shipped), tasting room, and wholesale inventories and accuracy.
•  Answer inbound calls, follow up with customers who leave a voicemail, and book reservations
•  Assist Wine Club Manager with shipping and fulfillment, including wine club shipments
•  Monthly reporting of tasting room sales and achievements to Ownership and team
•  Responsible for updating SOPs, training team members, and ensuring follow through
•  Responsible for donations (experiences, wine, and monetary) and processing internally
•  Responsible for generating sales promotions and communicating to team, as well as tracking social media promotions and email campaigns
•  Responsible for all reservations and appointments, including those through TOCK
•  Ownership of TOCK system and training of team of system
•  Ownership of WineDirect’s POS System
•  Responsible for coordinating and conducting tours through the production facility
•  Knowledge of proper technique and safety for sabrage and responsible for training all team members.
•  Maintain and uphold all local, regional and national safety requirements and standards
•  Ensure proper safety training for team
•  Perform other duties as assigned by Ownership

REQUIRED SKILLS:

•  Excellent people management and outstanding customer service
•  Must love interacting with all people and building relationships
•  Must be a self-motived team player and possess good communication skills
•  Must be capable of working independently and with a team, while managing multiple tasks at once
•  Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize projects and follow through
•  Proficient at organizing and problem-solving
•  Knowledge of wines and wine production methods
•  Commitment to achieving excellent standards
•  Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must have ability to clearly communicate goals and tasks, in addition to encouraging team member to accomplish them
•  Professional appearance and demeanor
•  Willingness to work in an evolving environment with enthusiasm and adapt to changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  3+ years of related experience, preferably with tasting room management
•  Previous experience with POS and Reservation Systems (preferably with WineDirect & Tock)
•  TIPS, RBS Training, CTA Certification, and CA Food Handler Certifications preferred, but not required (we will facilitate)
•  Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

•  Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to do the following:
•  Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop, and crouch repeatedly
•  Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods as required by job duties
•  Must be able to walk at least 40 yards over uneven ground between work locations
•  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
•  Must be 21 years or older
