Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer/Accountant to join our team in New York, New York, on a long-term contract basis. This role focuses on preparing individual tax returns and supporting various accounting projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in tax preparation software and excel in delivering accurate financial solutions. Responsibilities: - Prepare and review individual tax returns with precision and adherence to regulations. - Manage journal entries to ensure accurate financial record-keeping. - Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently. - Utilize ProSeries software for tax preparation tasks. - Perform data entry and maintain organized financial records. - Use Excel to analyze and report financial data. - Assist in collecting payments and ensuring timely processing. - Address ad hoc accounting projects as needed to support the team. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation or accounting. - Proficiency in ProSeries tax software is essential. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. - Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. - Ability to accurately perform data entry tasks. - Skilled in managing journal entries and maintaining financial records. - Excellent organizational and time management abilities. - Familiarity with individual tax return preparation and compliance.
