Summary:

Idaho State Police District 3 is recruiting for a Technical Records Specialist 1. This position provides a variety of records support functions; reviews and processes documents; determines and explains compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies and takes appropriate action; maintains a manual or computerized records system; performs related work.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:



  • Provide office support requiring an in-depth knowledge of assigned program areas.
  • Back up to phones and assisting with customer service inquiries at the window.
  • Process prosecutor requests for case files and video as well as LifeLoc paperwork.
  • File patrol cases and maintain file room to keep neat and organized.
  • Maintain calendar for patrol subpoenas.
  • Enter handwritten citations.
  • Process all tow sheets daily and send out abandoned vehicle paperwork.
  • Communicate with tow companies and send out all paperwork as necessary.
  • Order patrol items from the warehouse using Luma.
  • Assist with property transfer forms as needed.
  • Maintain the forms in the squad room.
  • Drop off and pick up mail daily.


Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
  • researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
  • interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
  • entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

  • obtaining and safeguarding sensitive information
  • using word processing software to create and modify documents
  • cash handling, balancing, and reconciling
