Adelphi is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide services to students at a college in Purchase, New York.
The ideal candidate will work closely with key college personnel to provide rehabilitation and treatment for students with athletic injuries on campus, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.

Requirements:

• Certification through the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
• Experience in athletic performance care.
• Any other relevant Certification(s).

Responsibilities:

• Assess injured students, determine the severity and type of injury, and recommend appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, or referral to dance medicine specialists.
• Administer first aid and manage recovery through manual therapy, exercise programs, taping, ultrasound, and other modalities while monitoring progress.
• Refer students to qualified healthcare professionals (e.g., orthopedists, nutritionists, psychologists) for specialized treatment when necessary.
• Evaluate students’ fitness to return to dance activities and advise the Director of Dance on participation limitations, suspensions, or reinstatements.
• Collaborate with campus officials to ensure timely emergency response and compliance with university safety protocols.
• Accurately document all injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation activities, and report regularly to the Director of Dance and Faculty Injury Coordinator.
• Conduct initial screenings, design preventative care plans, and teach courses or workshops on dance injury prevention and safe movement practices.
• Any other assigned duties.
