Electrician
100% Travel
System One is seeking traveling Electricians to perform the installation of navigational aids, communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment on airfields across the United States National Air Space (NAS). This is a great opportunity to join a respected government contractor in the engineering and construction services sector!
This position is part of our client’s Federal Solutions team. The Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to our client in April 2023. Our client is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
Important Details:
6-months contract opportunity to start (high likelihood of conversion to a permanent; depends on performance and work load)
Pay rate range: $30 - $40/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience. H&W Rate: TBD (paid in addition to their hourly pay rate for the 1st 40 hours worked each week)
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (approx.)
Travel costs are reimbursed at the government rate (GSA) based on the assigned duty location (project location). This typically includes travel costs (airfare, rental vehicle, personal vehicle mileage, etc.), lodging (hotel), and per diem (meals and incidental expenses). These are reimbursed at the published government (GSA) rates. These costs are authorized via a Travel Authorization that we would issue in advance of booking travel. Our field staff are deployed for weeks at a time. These are 100% travel positions. Employees are reimbursed for all travel expenses, including weekends, at GSA rates.
Only working time (including travel time) is compensable on this contract. Our intent is to have minimal downtime, but we do schedule opportunities for individuals to return home every six weeks on average for around a week. Given that there is ample overtime (10-20% is expected) during deployments, the total hours work typically is more than enough to cover any non-elective downtime.
