About the Role:

We are looking for a Junior Cable Engineer to join our client's team in Boise, ID. This junior-level role is perfect for individuals passionate about infrastructure and eager to start a career in telecommunications or network engineering. The Junior Cable Engineer will assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cabling systems, ensuring the smooth transmission of data and communications.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or coursework in telecommunications, networking, or a related field is a plus.
• Basic understanding of cabling systems, including fiber optics and copper cabling.
• Hands-on experience through internships, coursework, or junior-level work (preferred).
• Familiarity with cable testing equipment and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret cabling diagrams and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to work in various environments, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cables.
• Support the deployment and termination of various cable types (e.g., CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic).
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and repairs for cable-related issues under supervision.
• Perform cable routing and labelling in compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Ensure proper documentation of cabling layouts, including updating blueprints and records.
• Work with senior engineers and technicians to support infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations during installations.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess cabling needs and verify installations.
