Overview This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content development and website organization. The Marketing & Communications Intern will work closely shadowing the marketing & communications team members while also collaborating with various departments across the company to develop content and design for new internal intranet pages and contribute competitive research on social media and ideas on relevant trends. This role will also support events logistics. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital media, or related fields. You will be joined by other interns in different parts of the business so you can learn and grow as a small cohort.

Internship Details - Duration: June 9th – August 29th (Flexible based on academic calendar)
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Flexible)
Responsibilities As a member of our team, you will… Content Creation - Develop a visual layout of new landing pages for Vision’s intranet that prioritizes information sharing and employee engagement, including recommending consistent sections and folders, relevant graphics, and writing content for landing page sections. This “wireframe” will be the comprehensive project that will then be implemented by internal teams at the conclusion of the internship.
- Support the creation of social media and events graphics
Observation & Analysis - Conduct interviews and gather information from subject matter experts across vertical sectors and operations.
- Audit designated sections of intranet for outdated information and recommendations.
- Conduct competitive research on social media trends and make recommendations for inclusion in a content calendar.
Event Support - Shadow and support the logistics start to finish of employee engagement events such as our large scale Vision summer family day and small scale employee events.
- Shadow the logistics of trade show support.
Digital Media Support - Shadow the creation of digital campaigns, video production, etc.
- Shadow the logistics of Vision’s external website redesign.
Collaboration & Communication - Collaborate with team members across different departments.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
- Present findings to managers.
Other Duties - Assist with other administrative or operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong organizational skills, creativity, teamwork, and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in or a willingness to learn graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) a plus,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
- Proficiency and interest in social and digital communications channels
- Detail and deadline oriented with a proactive approach to all projects
