The Division of Critical Care Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Critical Care Physician to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a strong track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions.
The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine is made up of highly motivated faculty members with a wide range of academic and clinical interests, including simulation education, transport medicine, sedation, resuscitation, extracorporeal support, cardiac- and neuro-critical care, quality improvement, telemedicine, non-invasive monitoring, machine learning models, and translational research in acquired brain injury and cardiopulmonary physiology. Division members are nationally recognized experts in research and program development and hold numerous local and national leadership roles associated with these programs. Division faculty provide clinical services in the American Family Children's Hospital Pediatric ICU and Sedation Clinic and train the next generation of critical care physicians through the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting-edge research, and vigorous advocacy. Our faculty enjoy a robust infrastructure of services as well as the opportunity to contribute to our world-class research portfolio - since 2015, the Department of Pediatrics has ranked among the Top 20 pediatrics departments receiving NIH funding, according to Blue Ridge Institutes for Medical Research. A competitive salary and benefits package is provided. For appointments hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track:
- Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
- Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups, and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.
- Provide clinical coverage of general pediatric critical care patients and/or cardiac critical care
patients depending on training and experience.

- Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required, by start date.
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Critical Care is required, by start date.
- Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.
- Strong research track record and trajectory is preferred
- Additional training or experience in an academic or clinical area of interest is preferred.
- Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by start date.
