What You Will Be Doing

This role is responsible for designing, developing, tactically deploying, and effectively executing programs and policies to support the strategy and vision to achieve World Class EHS Performance. Key areas of focus include planning, EHS governance, auditing, management systems, best practice sharing, and compliance initiatives, such as:

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies (Hazard Communication, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Machine Guarding, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash, Robot Safety, Cranes, ISO 14001, etc.)

  • Preparing and submitting compliance reports for Federal, State, and Local entities, customers, and parent company

  • Establishing goals, objectives, metrics, and scorecards to ensure EHS effectiveness

  • Evaluating Environmental, Health & Safety programs and implementing best practices

  • Conducting investigations (injury, illness, near miss) using root cause analysis and developing corrective actions

  • Administering PPE programs (safety glasses, safety shoes)

  • Leading hazardous waste management and disposal

  • Developing and implementing facility-wide ergonomics and carbon neutrality initiatives

  • Coordinating SDS program for all materials used, received, or processed

  • Developing and testing emergency action plans (fire, severe weather, spills, etc.)

  • Performing risk assessments for new and changing processes and projects

  • Managing Workers’ Compensation claims with TPA, state agencies, and legal counsel

  • Leading EHS meetings, audits, and inspections

  • Developing and delivering EHS training programs

  • Maintaining accurate EHS documentation and reporting systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Environmental Management, or related field

  • 3–5 years of experience (minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment)

  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and related regulations (including OSHA 300 logs)

  • Experience with multi-location plants and 24/7 operations

  • Understanding of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001) EHS management systems

  • OSHA General Industry 10- or 30-hour training course

  • Forklift training experience

Preferred (not required): Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification

Working Conditions
