Job Description

About: 40hours per week (benefit eligible). Reports to the Director of Volunteer Services. Main objective of this position is to do on-board, placing and supporting the continued support of volunteers in the Lyngblomsten community.
The posted pay range of this hourly position is $17 to $20. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the placement of individual volunteers
• Help in coordination for onboarding of volunteers
• Provide leadership and support for the Service Learning program
• Provide leadership and support for The Gathering volunteers
• Basic office support -- working with one other Volunteer Coordinator and the Director of Volunteer Services
• Participate in the planning/implementation of volunteer recognition

Qualifications:

• BA or equivalent experience
• Desire to enhance the well-being of older adults
• Experience working with volunteers
• Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Effective with communication and listening skills
• Comfortable with public speaking and the desire to actively engage learners
• Demonstrates a professional, welcoming and hospitable demeanor as an ambassador of Lyngblomsten
• Self-motivated, independent worker with ability to be part of a team
• Knowledge of computer programs such a Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher and data base systems, preferably Volgistics
