Certified Public Accountant
AppleOne Employment Services Wilson, North Carolina, United States (On-site)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CPA Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive accounting and tax services to our diverse client base. Your expertise in financial accounting, tax compliance, and problem-solving will be essential in ensuring our clients' financial success.

Responsibilities:
Accounting:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
Tax:
• Prepare and file accurate and timely individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns, including federal, state, and local returns.
• Proactively identify tax-saving opportunities and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
• Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues to provide sound advice and support to clients.
• Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
General:
• Build strong relationships with clients by providing clear and timely communication on accounting and tax matters, addressing their concerns, and offering proactive advice.
• Stay abreast of the latest accounting and tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide optimal services.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the accounting and tax departments and across other departments to achieve team goals.

Qualifications:
• CPA certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and tax, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and tax software (e.g., TaxAct, ProSeries).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
