Job Description

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the safe and proper distribution of electricity to all areas of Telemundo Center facilities (building services as lighting, outlets, mechanical systems plus studio production support with sound/audio, lighting, camera operations, new Novela sets and external production locations).

Job Duties:

• Responsible for installations involving electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to local codes and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical issues, including circuits, breakers, and wiring problems.
• Interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to complete installations and repairs.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
• Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of company’s infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures.
• Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment.
• Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader.
• Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader
• Collaborates with contractors/3rd parties, builders, and other tradespeople to coordinate project timelines and deliverables.
• Communicates effectively with clients to explain work performed and provide recommendations for electrical needs.
• Works under the direct supervision of Manager, Facilities Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Director as needed

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician or similar role/scope
• Valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in residential and commercial electrical work.
• Exhibits strong knowledge of electrical theory, code compliance, and safety practices.
• Exhibits ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
• Must be able to perform physical activities required of this position which includes, but is not limited to, climbing, lifting, balancing stooping, and handling of materials
• Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
• Fluent in English (written and oral).

Desired Characteristics:

• Fluency in English & Spanish is preferred
• Works with other team members to proactively anticipate and develop solutions to client problems.
• Clearly articulates diagnostics and resolutions in communication with clients and team members and in written work orders.
• Exceptional communication, time management, analytical and organizational skills
• Self-starter who exhibits ownership on assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building towards long-term goals

• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
• This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite
