Job Description

Aspire Medical Staffing is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team. As an Orthopedic Physician Assistant at Aspire Medical Staffing , you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive orthopedic care to military patients at Langley Air Force Base .

You will work closely with the Orthopedic Surgeons and assist in surgical procedures, diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and create treatment plans for patients. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the highest standard of care and outstanding patient outcomes.

633rd MDG, Langley AFB, Hampton VA

Department:  Orthopedic Surgery

Hours:  Monday through Friday 0730-1630. Clinic time only. You do not have to be in surgeries unless you would like to be scheduled for surgery days

Compensation Options:

  • 1099 Rate: $92/ hours-paid only for hours worked (no benefits offered)

OR

W2 Option 1:

  • W2 Rate: $72/hour
  • CME Reimbursement: $2,000 per year
  • PTO: 80 hours annually (accrued per pay period)
  • Sick Leave: 56 hours annually (accrued per pay period)

W2 Option 2:

  • W2 Rate: $72/hour
  • CME Reimbursement: $1,000 per year
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 with a 1 year commitment
  • Retention Bonus: $1,500 each year with a 1 year commitment
  • PTO: 80 hours annually (accrued per pay period)
  • Sick Leave: 56 hours annually (accrued per pay period)

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
    • License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic experience as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedics
    • Certification: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
    • Knowledge of orthopedic procedures
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Detail-oriented and organized
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach
  • Duties:
  • Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
  • Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in- service training to staff members.
  • Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
  • Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved medications and immunizations.
  • Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem, including referral to a physician.
  • Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services.
  • Teach patients and family member's healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
